Jimmy's Favorite Sites
By Jimmy R. Hammond, CPA
Here are a few sites I have discovered
which are helpful, informative or interesting. These sites relate
to Annapolis, to business or are just worth dropping in for a
casual visit. Let's go surfing and take a look.
I thought I had made the
find of the year when I discovered www.spinlife.com/.
We were in need of a wheelchair for our house guest, and this
little speedster (manual drive) cost just $240, delivered.
We can cruise the mall in comfort and, with the temporary handicap
sticker, life is good. A friend of mine who's been in a wheelchair
for years says he wouldn't buy his wheelchairs anywhere else.
Usually in each tax season I have something that happens to make
me wonder if we all come from the same planet. I realize, however,
that my stories pale in comparison with the page after page of
tax stories, anecdotes and arguments you'll find at www.taxfables.com
where one very clever and humorous CPA has catalogued the bizarre
tax behavior of Americans. This might be the place to check out
your next tax scheme before you subject yourself to ridicule from
your accountant or, worse yet, get charged for a bad or embarrassing
question.
www.lots-o-logos.com/.
What more can a name say? This company sells a CD with every known
corporate logo in America (estimated 12,000) and some outside
the USA. I discovered it when looking at a Whirlpool appliance
logo, a portion of which was in Russian. I couldn't use that one,
but I found the ones I needed on the CD. It was worth the $99
to never go begging or searching for a logo again. They will send
you a few logos for free if you need encouragement to buy.
It's finally summer, and it's time to be thinking about airplanes
and flying again. Recently, I discovered an experimental aircraft
that can be built for less than $5,000, depending on your building
skills and scrounging ability. This little beauty called the Legal
Eagle looks great, and the video clips at http://ourworld.cs.com/_ht_a/skiblinger/
are sure to get you in the mood. If that doesn't get you excited,
go to www.wrightflyer.org/
to follow the construction progress and travel itinerary of the
Wright Brothers replica plane that is scheduled to fly on Dec.
17, 2003, the 100th birthday of power flight---and, if this doesn't
bring you around, call the doctor quick!
As always, we encourage your thoughts and suggestions, Thanks.
