Eighth Annual Mardi Gras Gala
It's an event you won’t want to miss: the 8th Annual Mardi Gras Gala on February 25th at the Sheraton Annapolis Hotel, hosted by the Arts Council of Anne Arundel County, formerly the Cultural Arts Foundation, with all the proceeds to benefit the arts in Anne Arundel County. The Arts Council, a nonprofit organization, is working to make the arts a vital part of our lives in this area by providing funding for music, dance, drama and the visual arts to numerous arts groups and also supporting Arts-In-Education programs in area schools.
The Saturday evening gala for $125, or $1250 for a table of ten, includes an open bar and appetizers, complimentary photo portraits from 7:00–8:00 p.m. followed by a Cajun and Creole gourmet dinner and dancing to the music of Radio City. This grand ball will be a memorable experience you won’t want to miss. A silent auction will offer a wonderful range of items including original art works by local artists and get-away packages. Event Chair, Fran Andrews, is inviting guests to follow New Orleans tradition and wear black-tie or costume attire and win a prize for the best costume or mask. We will have lots of trinkets in celebration of Mardi Gras.
King Sponsor for the event is Comcast with Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Abbott along with honorary chairs County Executive Janet S. Owens, Annapolis Mayor Ellen Moyer, and Mr. and Mrs. John Belcher from ARINC. For reservations, call 410-222-7949 or email artsfdn@aol.com.
